The Person Behind the Bricks

Bricks and Minifigs Metro East is locally owned and operated by a local mom of four who believes that LEGO can be so much more than a toy.
Before opening the store, our owner spent several years in marketing and advertising, then more than a decade working in educational intervention, helping struggling students develop the skills and confidence they needed to succeed. As a teacher, she saw every day how much children can learn when they are motivated.
As a mom, she also knows how important it is having places to go to spend time as a family. So when the opportunity to bring Bricks & Minifigs to the Metro East came along, it felt like a natural fit. There are displays and ever-changing merchandise to see, and interactive shopping areas. We host dozens of family- and education-centered events every year.
Why LEGO?
There is something pretty special about LEGO.
A pile of bricks can become almost anything. A child can follow the instructions or throw them out the window and build something completely their own. A family can work on a project together. A collector can spend an afternoon hunting for one elusive piece. And sometimes, the person who walks through the door saying, “I'm just looking” ends up leaving with an idea they're already excited to build.
That's what we love about LEGO: there isn't just one right way to enjoy it.
Huge LEGO® Selection
We carry an extensive inventory of current and past LEGO® products and select LEGO®-compatible products. You will not find a larger, or more variegated, selection of LEGO® Minifigures® in the Metro East. We have rare and retired sets and pieces, we have overflowing bins of bricks you can sort through and buy in bulk, and we have new and current LEGO® sets, too! We also have a large selection of LEGO® accessories, collections, and even displays of unique builds and creations. Our inventory changes every single day, so you never know what you might find, or what you might miss!
We are a locally-owned and locally-operated shop and we support local, too
Yes, we are a franchise store, but 94% of our revenue stays local. We sponsor local non-profit organizations and education programs. We support other local businesses like our property owner, maintenance companies, marketing firms, printers, crafters, local restaurants, and utility companies. We partner with schools, homeschool co-ops, church groups, and kids' clubs. We invest a large portion of our budget into the unique educational and family programs we host. We match employee retirement contributions. Even our inventory often comes from local people. When you make an investment in LEGO at our store, you're making an investment in the local community.
More Than a LEGO Store
Because of our background in education, we especially love finding ways to use LEGO for learning, creativity, and hands-on experiences.
We want Bricks & Minifigs Metro East to be a place for lifelong LEGO fans, parents and grandparents looking for inspiration, collectors searching for specific items, or someone who hasn't played with LEGO in years.
Come build with us. We can't wait to see what you create.
